End of June Update

Slow start sometime in the middle of June...

Drawing the older version of myself was rather difficult. I guess it's because I'm picky about the way I represent myself in my work. In the end, I might have drawn myself prettier than I actually am.

For no grand reason, I had the idea of drawing myself making a promise with my younger self. I have always been fascinated by the concept of traversing time.

Making progress! I laid down the marker base and began adding details with colored pencil.

You might consider me lazy for keeping half the paper colorless (and you would be correct), but besides the fact that I am quite lazy, I think there's something moving that is achieved by keeping half the page as a sketch. My story is unfinished. I am only a high school junior, not even a quarter through the average lifespan. What I can say is that my childhood has come to an end, uneventfully but inevitably. I remember it fondly.

When this chapter has come to a close, perhaps I will revisit this drawing and color in the other half...
